One of our key long term aims has always been to provide racing opportunities for riders, who may not otherwise have that opportunity at their disposal.  Unfortunately, as we are only a small outfit with a very limited pot of money, our ability to provide racing experiences for different level of riders is extremely limited and we rely on donations from our supporters in order to be able to do that.

So far this year, we have taken a team to the Milk Race and to the Holme Valley Wheelers Stage Race, all of which have been paid for by donations, with our aim being to provide riders with the experience of riding a professional level event or their first stage race.

At the same time, we have provided support to riders who have been dipping their toes into competitive cycling for the first time, whether that be in a circuit race, road race or time trial.  We are pleased to have seen our membership steadily increase this year, which we hope is in part due to the support that we are able to give riders looking to race for the first time.

So far, we have been concentrating on the grass roots, development end of women’s cycle sport however, we can now reveal that thanks to the generosity of the Fred Whitton Challenge we have funding to take part in races abroad towards the end of this season, which means that we can provide racing opportunities for the more experienced riders in the domestic peloton.

Obviously, we need riders to be able to achieve this, therefore if you meet our eligibility criteria make sure you complete the application form and forward it onto us at the address detailed on the form.  We do ask that you join us (membership is £5 per year plus the £1 British Cycling administration fee), which you can do by clicking here as this assists us and you by having the Foundation on your racing licence.

The races that we decide to attend will be announced in due course, but in the meantime, we are always looking for donations (whether that be in cash or not), so if you think that you might be able to assist, please contact us.
