Now February pay day has passed, here’s our pick of road races for women’s cycling in April 2016 (based on races currently on the calendar):

3 April 2016

Dave Peck Memorial Road Race E123 – start time 11am – distance 53 miles – entry fee £20 – Twickenham. Part of the Women’s Team Series, this race is always popular. Note the rules/regulations regarding entries. Entries close 5 March

Capernwray Road Race E123 – start time 10:02am – distance 47 miles – entry fee £20 – Capernwray, near Lancaster. This event has been a W2/W3/W4 for the past two seasons but has changed to E123 for this year’s event, partly due to a lack of races in the North West for first category riders. A good challenging circuit, it’s also moved a week backwards to avoid Easter. Closing date 13 March.

10 April 2016

Lovelo Cinelli Women’s Road Race  W2/W3/W4 – start time 12pm – distance 42 miles – entry fee £20 – Leighton Buzzard. A new event, proving to be extremely popular.

Manx International Cycling GP Feminin E123 – start time 1:50pm – distance 76 miles – entry fee £20 – Isle of Man. A new addition to the National Women’s Road Series (hence the inclusion) which covers two laps of the iconic Isle of Man TT circuit. Details of how to get there can be found on their website.

Plymouth Corinthians Spring Road Race W2/W3/W4 – start time 10:01am – distance 39 miles – entry fee £20 – Modbury circuit, Devon. A challenging circuit will make for a great event.

16 April 2016

St Helens CRC Bickerstaffe Road Race W2/W3/W4 – start time 11am – distance 40 miles – entry fee £17 – Bickerstaffe, Merseyside. Closing date 8 April. A short tight circuit, good if you like corners! NB. This has a restricted field size of 40.

24 April 2016
