A big part of Racing Chance is bike riding – it’s difficult to race without it. But winter training can often be difficult – cold mornings, frost, having to get dressed up in loads of layers – all of these play their part in putting you off.
So over winter we have a special emphasis on quality training. We start from Red House Farm in Dunham, Cheshire and we do a steady three hour ride, non-stop (average speed about 17mph) every other Sunday. These rides proved popular last year.
This year we’re stepping up and having faster, shorter rides on the alternate Saturdays. Average speed will be about 20mph but the ride will be over two hours instead.
