Apologies for the delay, however June is a big month in the calendar and I was waiting for the various regional championships to go live.

Full details of the races in June on the British Cycling website can be found here but here is our pick of events for June 2016:

4 June 2016

This is the designated regional championship weekend. It’s so important for the women to support these championships as the powers that be need to be made aware of the increase in interest of women’s competition. Only by supporting these events will it ensure that the opportunities for women are available going forward (last year many regions didn’t have a standalone women’s event and even this year it’s not an option for everyone).

South West Regional Road Race Championships – 42 miles – Bodmin, Cornwall – £25 – E1234 – 10am

South East Regional Road Race Championships – 50 miles – West Sussex – £15 – E123 – 1:30pm Entry is via RiderHQ.com here.

12 June 2016

Pontefract Town Centre Races – W2/W3/W4 – £15 – 12:15pm start. Same weekend as Essex Giro (National Series) so probably unlikely to see teams here. Great opportunity for town centre racing at a good price for entry fee.

Harrogate Nova Women’s Road Race – 35 miles – £23 – 10:05am – W2/W3/W4 – using the famous Penny Pot circuit outside Harrogate, this is a great event.

Doncaster Town Centre Races – 2:30pm start – £18 – W2/W3/W4 – loads of racing for the kids and grown ups!

Birkenhead Park Bike Factory Races – 25 miles – 11am start – W2/W3/W4 – using the full park this year, it’s always a great event, especially for beginners.
